Santa Claus is Coming to Town

It was a cold late fall night.  My children and I were sitting at the table painting.  Dad had just come home from work for the night.  When I heard a very familiar noise outside.  Jingle, jingle, jingle.  HoHoHo!!!!!  The kids little ears perked up as they ran and flew open the front door!  Amazement filled their faces as they opened wide and saw none other than Santa standing there greeting them.  In walked Santa Claus and into our family room roamed.  Taking time with each kid.  Their smiles were wide and their eyes were bright.  They couldn't believe what was happening this night!

I'm Back.....

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's now been a full year since I've updated my blog.  So what better time to add a post than on Halloween.

First, a little bit about what's happened over the past year.  The biggest bit of information is that we moved into a new home and the kids are at a new school.  The transition is going well although we still really miss our old neighbors, friends and school.  The upside is the wonderful new friends we have made and of course the space we have gained in the new home.

Seth, Grace and Elaina are in second grade now.  This is their first year not being in the same class.  For all you moms of multiples, if there is any doubt in your head about keeping you kids together, it was the best decision I have made for them this year.  They are thriving in their friendships and enjoying each other at home much more.

Despite the busy summer, we still had time to take a small vacation this year.  Of course it was the only time this summer it was cold and rainy.  It was still nice to get away.  We took off to Ludington to hang out at the beach....so much for our beach vaca!  We made the most of it and it was still nice to get away!

We Love Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone! We had a great halloween this year! One of the best yet. Once again, we shut down the neighborhood with our trick or treating. I think my kids would have stayed out all night if it wasn't against the law!

Seth picked out a mummy costume this year. He begged an begged for me to bring bandages home from work to wrap his face with. He had a lot of fun with his costume this year.

Grace is a belly dancer. We were able to make it to the Renaissance Festival this year and the belly dancers must have made an impression on her. She belly danced her way around the neighborhood tonight. I'm in trouble with that girl! That's for sure!!!

Elaina was very excited to dress as a pirate this year. They love to watch Jake and the Neverland Pirates. She wanted her big gold hoop earrings just like the pirates wear. I promised her she could wear them for the night. She is such a girl!!! Once again, she insisted on carrying her trick or treat bag all night long without emptying it....even when it weighed as much as she did. That girl loves her candy!

Summer Vacation.....

Pool Play!!!

Sixth Birthday!

Well, well, well...where to begin. I've not updated our blog in quite some time. Maybe about a year or so! I know, I know....BAD mommy!!!!! Once school started (and I mean kindergarten) life has been moving in fast forward. I know this is the way things are supposed to go. I've always heard that time only moves faster the older you become. I have to say, I'm not ready. I know I can't stop time and I know I want my kids to grow big and strong. But they are 6...already. It doesn't seem possible!!! Kindergarten has come and went. First grade is a over a month in. This school year is by and large better than last as far as adjustment goes. The summer vacation inbetween was very much needed!

The kids got a pool for their birthday this year. It was a big hit! We got to spend a lot more time at home because of it. All they wanted to do was swim. And let me tell you, they are little fishies!!! Our camping trip this year was spent in Silver Lake at the sand dunes. The kids loved playing in the sand and at the beach. They thought I went a little crazy when I told them they could swim in the lake with their clothes on, since we were out climbing the dunes and it was HOT by the time we got to the lake! Many happy times were spent at the beach and the campground pool. We rented a jeep and cruised the dunes. Then it was time to go home.

When summer was over and it was time for the school year to begin, they were ready. Ready to get back to see their friends and have a little bit more consistancy to their days that what I provided at home.

So here we are. Days going by faster and faster. Just trying to cherish each moment we have!

Merry Christmas!!!
